Have I shown a pic of my Kromski Prelude spinning wheel?  Well, just in case I have not.. here it is..  And have I been having fun with it!  All the roving in the large bag and the bowl has been spun and am now working on the Merino roving in the brightest white bag. This comes to about 1500 yards of homespun double ply.  

The day before yesterday was dye day around here.  I used Kool Aid and dyed 3 different colors.  I thought I would save some time and effort and soak the yarn in the vinegar water and then just add the Kool Aid mixed with a little water to the water already in the pan…with the yarn still in it.  That worked really well except for the green.  I suppose the pan I used was too tall and thin for the amount of yarn I had in it.  The dye did not absorb into the center of the pot, therefore I can either call the green variegated or re-dye it.  I think it will be variegated..grin   

I’ve only dyed once before and that turned out the most lovely peach color (along with a lovely yellow and mint green).  When I was trying to decide what to do with them, I came across this pattern  on Yarn Harlot’s blog.  It’s a very easy to remember one row pattern.  And does it look lovely done up!  I decided I liked the peach color for this pattern.  And a thank you to Knitting Nonni for the point to the pattern….
