Will rust dyed fabrics hold up over time? Didn’t have time to read all her instructions.

There were a couple of questions about that in her comments section…I’m not sure.

Thanks for posting the link to my blog – much appreciated!

In regards to lifetime of the fabrics – I’ve had no problems with them as it’s a rust-like solution, not real rust. Fabric that I dyed in this way 2 years ago is still good and feels the same as undyed fabrics – just make sure that you wash them thoroughly.

The fabrics that I’ve coloured using actual rusted objects does have a different feel to it and in patches the rust can create holes. For me this isn’t a problem as I am not making useable items (garments and quilts etc) and mostly use the fabrics rusted with real rust for embellishing, layering and so on.

Thanks, Sophie, for answering our question. Your fabric is beautiful.
