Whatever is old is new again.. (free crochet patterns)

Shrug…1916 pattern from Crochet TreasuresI’ve heard it said that with every generation, whatever is happening at the time they are born is the norm.  Whatever changes are made after that are considered “new & improved” and whatever came before is “old” and “old fashioned”.  Here’s a case in point…

Shrugs have been the “thing” for a couple of years now, with new patterns popping up everywhere…  This shrug in the picture is from 1916 with the only difference being the name… it was called a “shoulder shawl” in 1916.  The pattern is here on the Crochet Treasures site.  Have a look….
