Nalbinding Knit Stitch

Nalbinding Knit StitchIt’s been a while since Alix put her page up  with the stitches and pattern how-tos.  Her page was the first that I had seen that actually used and showed how to use the nalbinding knit stitch.  In the process of trying to do this stitch, I think I came up with a new one..lol  It seems that one needs to do a transition row from the original row of Oslo stitches to get the knit stitch to work right.

I kind of like the new stitch.  It lies flat but still retains the bounce and stretch of the knit stitches above.  (This pic is upside down..lol  The flat stitches will be the top of the bag and will be threaded with a lucet cord.)

If you are new to nalbinding (or have no earthly idea what this is…grin)  Ask the Bellwether has a wonderful page with the origins, definitions and links to other pages re: nalbinding.  It’s a great find… Have a look!
