Nalbinding Needles, New Bag and Pillow Top

nalbound bag and new needles

I finished my first two color nalbinding project a couple of days ago.  My uncle was kind enough to whittle me two new needles with his pocket knife… the top two long ones.  The top white one is deer antler… the next long one is cedar.  They are the two that I used for this 2 color bag.  This bag will be lined with some cotton fabric and it will be the new storage for all my nalbinding needles.

There’s also been some work going on with the Harp Loom.  When I cut off the yardage made with the bamboo yarn there was still quite a bit of warp left on the loom.  I decided to use it up so I just pulled out some of whatever I had small amounts of to weave on it.  I came up with the yellow corriedale and deep brown icelandic wool.  There is only enough for a small pillow cover, so I will use cotton fabric to line the back.  I think I will also put a gathered edging around it.  We’ll see how it turns out..  More later…
