Hansen Mini E-Spinner … A New Love

For the last several months there has been a severe lack of “spinnage” around here.  I had a fall on the back porch early in the spring and it caused a flood of back and hip problems.  Using a treadle would work great for about 10 minutes and then it was over.. 😦  We have  finally got things almost worked out with the back, but I find that I still cannot use the treadle for any length of time.

Sooo.. a new form of an old hobby had to be found.  My husband called me into the office one day and said ” Here’s the one you’ll get!” …  It was the Hansen Mini E-Spinner.  I looked at it and instantly liked it just from the pictures and the You Tube videos.  But I decided to look around a little more… and more.. and more.  But I didn’t find any that I liked any better.  So here it is.. 🙂

HansenMiniESpinner209092013I have to admit that it took a bit of getting used to.. With my treadle I could slow down, speed up and control everything with my foot.  Not so with this.  I realize it will take a while to grow accustomed to the new way of doing things with the speed control and since I’ve only had it 3 days I think it may take a bit longer.. 🙂

Here’s another view showing the Woolee Winder that I decided to get with it.

HansenMiniESpinner092013The Woolee Winder is another product that I’ve found I love.  There are no hills and valleys in the yarn on the bobbin.  The smooth uptake allows much more yarn on the bobbin and I find that the bobbins are bigger than the normal ones.

By the way, I am in NO way associated with either of these products other than I have purchased them and I love them.. 🙂

The weather is still hot here in North Texas.  We’re having a cold front move through today and the temp will only hit 98° .  🙂  But that’s ok.  We had a wonderful visit from our son and daughter in law from Michigan and the happy index around here skyrocketed.. 😉

Have a lovely day today..
